Updated: Aug 4, 2022

Turkey is within a prime location geographically, being very close to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

“ISTANBUL IS A MAGICAL SEAL WHICH UNITES EUROPE AND ASIA SINCE THE ANCIENT TIMES. WITHOUT A DOUBT, ISTANBUL IS CERTAINLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE OF THE WORLD.”

Istanbul is one of the most interesting cities in the world. Not only the city itself, but also the cultural, historical, and geographical aspects of Istanbul make it one of a kind city. Let’s look at the reasons why it is so unique. Geographically Istanbul is in Asia and Europe at the same time. It is the only metropolis that is located on two continents. You can think of the city as a bridge that connects Europe and Asia to each other. Historically and culturally, it is in Asia and Europe at the same time. Because it was the capital of the Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine Empire in history, it is influenced by the east and the west.

Let's get acquainted with both of these areas. Europe's side known as Avrupa Yakasi, or Thrace, is part of Southeastern Europe. It only makes up 3% of the entire country yet together with the Asian side, it's the most populous city in Turkey, with a variety of districts. The Asian side, also known as Anatolia or Asian Minor is a peninsula surrounded by four seas: the Mediterranean, the Sea of Marmara, the Black Sea and the Aegean. Summer is the best time to visit the Asian side to enjoy its natural beauty. One-third of the city's population lives in this oldest area.

In fact, buying a home in Turkey, especially in Istanbul has been popular for decades. Still, in recent years, even more, nationalities have flocked to take advantage of affordable prices and in some cases, the Turkish citizenship incentive. People buy for various reasons. Perhaps the most popular is the holiday homeowner, who purchased a property for more holidays and potentially to relocate to, this creates for themselves a perfect home from home.
