1. Payments are made in Turkish Lira and Euro in Alanya and Turkey. When paying with Turkish Lira, you have a better chance of receiving the best deal.
2. Some restaurants and businesses accept credit cards, but withdrawing cash is recommended. Please note that staff does not take your credit card without your permission.
3. At restaurants in Alanya, it's customary to tip 10% of the bill.
4. The cleaning team at the hotel is usually paid between 2 and 5 Turkish Lira each day.
5. If the salespeople in Alanya get too bothersome, you must either be a little nasty or ignore them entirely.
6. In Turkey, travellers have to carry their passports at all times. Keep an eye out for pickpockets and keep your passport protected.
